June Thread & Thought Creative Workshop: Body as Story
Here's the Zoom link for the session, plus recommended readings
Thread & Thought is a monthly, hour-long creative session online where we follow a thread and deepen a thought. These are low-pressure workshops designed to help you carve out time to write, reflect, and reconnect with your creative process: less formal teaching, more space to experiment.
I run Thread & Thought as part of my practice as a writer and art historian, so if you’re looking to make creativity a more regular part of your life, this is a beautiful place to begin for just £4.50 per month.
The June session will explore how the body can become archive, voice, symbol, and map.
It’s not too late to join, simply sign up here as a paid subscriber for access to the Zoom link and all the materials:
I hope you can join me Thursday 5th June, at 8pm UK Time.
What happens in a session:
A welcome and a warm-up exercise or two
We study an artwork - individually and together - I’ll guide you through this & give some art historical detail too
We sit together and write (or sketch!)
There is the option to reflect or share, if it feels right, at the end of the session. Or we have a discussion on the artwork and/or the theme.
In addition to the above, I share a handful of short reading recommendations based on the monthly theme. I also send out all the prompts after the session for future reference.
From recent attendees:
“I loved the session Joanna…I finished a piece of writing inspired by the idea of the body in flux and a new beginning”
“It was thoughtful and inspiring”.
